  • Arrival: Arrival at Paro International Airport situated around with the perfect beauty of mountains and forests which is the only international airport among the four airports in Bhutan. There you will be greeted by your licensed Bhutanese guide with a traditional way of welcome and drive.
     
  • Tachog Lhakhang: 15 Km away from the Paro International Airport you will see a Tachog Lhakhang, a small private temple and traditional suspension bridge which is built in 16th century by Tibetan saint Thangton Gyalpo, who is also popular as “The iron Bridge Builder”. He as a youth with great compassion had constructed several iron bridges in Tibet and Bhutan which served the residents to cross the rivers.
     
  • Transfer to Thimphu: Enjoy a scenic one and half hour drive to Bhutan’s Capital, Thimphu. The curve roads which go along with the pine forest and small village constantly carries the eye pleasing natural beauty.   • Morning Drive to Punakha: Your day begins with the early morning drive to Punakha, crossing the Dochula Pass (3100 Meters). On clear days, this pass offers breathtaking views of the eastern Himalayan ranges which also includes some of Bhutan’s highest peaks. The pass is adorned with 108 memorial chortens, a tribute to Bhutanese soldiers by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk, the eldest Queen Mother.

Trip Information – Best to know for Visitors

  • Visa Requirements: All tourists require a pre-arranged visa. Your tour operator will handle the process, but ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
  • Best Time to Visit: Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) offer the best weather and clear mountain views.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Dress modestly when visiting temples and dzongs. Cover your shoulders and knees, and remove shoes before entering religious sites.
  • Health & Fitness: The Tiger’s Nest hike requires moderate to high fitness. Prepare yourself by during some cardiovascular exercises before the trip.
  • Currency: The Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is pegged to the Indian Rupee (INR) which is also widely accepted. Credit cards are limited to larger establishments.
  • Accommodation & food: in this package cost you will be provided a twin room, where a single room supplement also can be requested with additional fee.
